DID YOU KNOW?  -- Three years before the 1995 Srebrenica Genocide, Serbs torched Bosniak villages and killed at least 3,166 Bosniaks around Srebrenica. In 1993, the UN described the besieged situation in Srebrenica as a "slow-motion process of genocide." In July 1995, Serbs forcibly expelled 25,000 Bosniaks, brutally raped many women and girls, and systematically killed 8,000+ men and boys (DNA confirmed).

It is no secret that Serb forces deliberately targeted and killed women and children in Srebrenica during the brutal siege of this enclave. For example, the April 1993 Srebrenica Children Massacre is one of many examples of Serbian brutality. It is also not secret that many babies succumbed to the heat and lack of medical supplies during the siege and fall of Srebrenica (1992-1995).

The following photograph from July 1995 shows Srebrenica refugees seeking safety near a UN compound in Potocari. Baby in woman's arms has blood all over his/her face. We don't know the identity of this woman or her baby, nor do we know the source of this photograph. If you know who took the photograph or the identity of this woman, please let us know by commenting, perhaps we could interview her and get an update what happened to the baby.
